Altaan Dilsen-Stokkem

Altaan was founded in December 1989 and is based on the Dilsen-Stokkem industrial estate. Altaan is specialised in the production of prefab concrete elements for industrial and residential buildings, shopping centres, office buildings and high-rise buildings. The product range consists of columns and beams. The company also profiles itself as a supplier of prefab reinforcement cages.

Altaan joined the Willy Naessens Group in 2012. This acquisition was made in the context of the continuing independence of the group’s activity in Limburg: the sourcing for the Limburg building sites can now fully depend on local supply for structural, concrete and wall elements, which will have a beneficial impact on transport costs and subsequently on construction costs. Furthermore, Altaan is ideally situated for exports to the Netherlands and Germany. Altaan has been certified by Kiwa in the context of the Dutch Building Materials Decree.

The Concrete Sustainability Council certificate (CSC) is an international guideline for the socially responsible production of cement, aggregates and concrete.

By obtaining this certificate, Altaan strengthens its reputation as a reliable and safe employer and sets itself apart from other players in the sector. Among other things, the certificate confirms compliance with local laws and regulations, safety and health regulations, and monitoring and continuous improvement of the quality of products and services. With this certificate, Altaan contributes to maintaining the company's integrity and good relationship with stakeholders.

Climate policy

As a company, Altaan is aware of the challenges posed by climate change and wants to do its part to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Altaan contributes to the build group's goal of reducing its CO2-emissions with 2.5 % per year.

• Measurement: Altaan will regularly measure and track GHG emissions to determine how much GHG they emit and where these emissions occur.
• Reporting: Altaan will report GHG emissions annually and make this information publicly available so that stakeholders are aware of our efforts to reduce GHG emissions.
• Reduction: Altaan will set targets to reduce GHG emissions and will take measures to achieve these targets. This can be done, for example, by introducing energy-efficient technologies, reducing the use of fossil fuels and investing in renewable energy sources.
• Monitoring: Altaan will regularly monitor and adjust its efforts to reduce GHG emissions if necessary to ensure that it achieves these targets.
